Flight is fueled by passionate volunteers, and there’s a place for everyone to get involved. Whether you’re coaching on the court, serving on the board, helping at events, or lending a hand behind the scenes, your time and talent make a real impact on young athletes in our community.
You don’t need to be a basketball expert—just bring your energy, reliability, and willingness to learn. Join our volunteer team and help us keep the game growing, fun, and accessible for families in Fort St. John.

Coach
Being a coach with Flight means more than teaching layups and defense—you’re helping young athletes build confidence, character, and a love for the game.
Coaches play a vital role in creating a positive, supportive environment where players can grow, have fun, and feel proud to be part of the Fort St. John basketball community. We are always looking for coaches to bring new experience and perspective to our basketball community
Recreational Coaches
Recreational coaches don’t need extensive basketball or coaching experience—just a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Our recreation program is entirely local, so you won’t need to worry about arranging any travel.
Competitive Coaches
Our competitive program is geared toward higher-level play. As such, we value competitive coaches with a level of experience and/or training in playing and coaching the game. There is a high level of commitment and a significant amount of travel required for coaches in our competitive program.

Become a Board Member
Flight is a non-profit society with 11 positions on our Board. Each role is valuable and essential to the efficient governance of our organization. Every year, we hold an AGM in September to nominate and elect new Board members. If you are interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you.
